Photos from our October 2013 trip to the Galapagos Islands. The first 43 images are from the 1-day stop-over in Quito, Ecuador on our way to the Islands. Our home in the Galapagos was the 96-passenger Celebrity Xpedition ship. From the ship, we made two expeditions per day by Zodiac in groups of 16 (plus a Naturalist) to hike and explore the wildlife and geology of each island. Except for Santa Cruz Island on the last day, all of the islands we visited are uninhabited by humans and access is strictly enforced by the Ecuadorian government to preserve and protect their wild, natural environments.
